I Shall Not Write Again
June 8, 2008 by alfonsoveck
My son asked me what he will write for his poetry slam entry. I was obliged to lend him a hand by giving him three lines and explaining to him how to write it. After a week, he came up with this piece. Can you guess the three lines I gave him?

I will not try to guess what those three words are. I may not get it. One thing i am sure of is your son, Joseph Alfonso(?), is your clone.
Thank you for the kind comment Manoy Doro. Yes, my son’s name is Joseph Alfonso III, nicknamed Joshua. Isn’t it funny how fathers always impart their frustrations to their sons?
It’s not actually three words like the ‘structure, sound, sense’ requirement in writing a poem which I gave my son but three lines. So as not to keep anyone guessing anymore, the three lines I gave to my son are: the title, the first line and the last line of the poem.
well, they say poets are not made they are born.it clearly runs in your blood.
IMPRESSIVE…
i can’t say the same about my son, at least not yet, but he is showing a little inclination towards writing literature in english, but only time will tell if i’m even remotely right.
This is a beautiful piece. I can’t guess either, this poem was written by 2 souls who are breathing as one.
Thank you eng, ‘’’’’iwin and Betchay! Your comments are most appreciated.
ang galing ng bata!!! do you talk poetry over dinner?
Thanks Cherie. I don’t encourage talking poetry over dinner, lest we forget eating dinner.
Now I know that architecture and poetry really goes well together. Keep up the good work Boyet!Ü
Thank you for the insightful comment Marinette. If you think its good then I’ll try to keep up!
I wasn`t able to guess anymore which words that was….I was driven away by the poem it self. I forgotten already how simple one can simply start to write!
I don`t know how old is your son but sure he writes beautifully…..
my son’s 15 years old, Virginia.
i’m happy that you’re delighted with his poem and i want to thank you for appreciating his writing.
