An empty poem

One of those nights I couldn’t sleep. Must be the moon? No. Whatever it is, I did manage to write a poem about it only to find out I really wrote nothing.

i dont know why but it feels like i’m reading a sort of alan poe’s work.if you call it gibberish then i can just imagine what you’re gonna say on my works, rubbish perhaps..ha!ha!ha!
this is the first time i heard of a full poem being “empty”
you have the workings of a great poet. do you have published works?
dear eng and ‘ ’ ’ ’ ’ iwin’ ,
i first read about Edgar Alan Poe’s ‘’Annabel Lee” from my father’s old book of poems sometime 1979-80 and instantly liked the poem. if there was ever an influence, i cannot tell but i feel humbled as my poem is being compared to Alan Poe’s and having the “workings of a great poet” is most certainly an overstatement. All the same, i thank you and all those who have taken the time to take this ‘road less traveled by’.
This poem (now with edits) together with my other poems was published sometime 1982-85 in our school paper ‘The Ripples’.
